چکیده
THz oscillators generated via frequency-multiplication of microwaves are facing difficulty in achieving low phase noise. Photonics-based techniques, which optical two tones translated to a wave through opto-electronic conversion, promising if the relative noise between is well suppressed. Here, ($\approx$ 560 GHz) with provided by frequency-stabilized, dissipative Kerr microresonator soliton comb. The repetition frequency comb stabilized long fiber two-wavelength delayed self-heterodyne interferometer, significantly reducing wave. A measurement technique characterize beyond limit frequency-multiplied microwave also demonstrated, showing superior any other photonic (> 300 GHz).

Competition between Raman and Kerr effects in microresonator comb generation.
We investigate the effects of Raman and Kerr gain in crystalline microresonators and determine the conditions required to generate mode-locked frequency combs. We show theoretically that a strong, narrowband Raman gain determines a maximum microresonator size allowable to achieve comb formation. We verify this condition experimentally in diamond and silicon microresonators and show that there e...

We explore ordered soliton ensembles in Kerr microresonators. These soliton crystals are stabilized through collective soliton interactions mediated by defects in resonator mode structure, and require only adiabatic tuning of the pump for generation. متن کاملA low-phase-noise 18 GHz Kerr frequency microcomb phase-locked over 65 THz
Laser frequency combs are coherent light sources that simultaneously provide pristine frequency spacings for precision metrology and the fundamental basis for ultrafast and attosecond sciences. Recently, nonlinear parametric conversion in high-Q microresonators has been suggested as an alternative platform for optical frequency combs, though almost all in 100 GHz frequencies or more. Here we re...
متن کاملSelf-starting low-noise fiber soliton laser.
We report a self-starting passively mode-locked soliton source generating 1-ps-wide pulses. The laser is configured as a ring with an erbium-doped fiber gain medium, a length of conventional fiber that provides the required dispersion and Kerr nonlinearity, and an intracavity multiple-quantum-well optical amplifier that serves as a saturable absorber and pulse stabilizer. The laser exhibits low...
